Alaska has been referred to as America’s last frontier for good reasons, it is huge and mostly undeveloped. That is why Alaska has become a prime location for nature photographers. Wildlife is abundant, and scenic landscapes are endless, add in the Alaskan experience and you have the perfect combination for our newest workshop, the Alaskan Experience.

Join Cecil Holmes and David Akoubian as they take you on guided and unguided tours of the Kenai, Homer, and Crescent Lake Areas.

We will have our own guide for river trips. While on the rivers we will possibly see Moose, Eagles, and many other birds, we will even do a little fishing for fresh salmon!

We will also make a trip to Homer for a boat tour of Kachemak Bay for sea mammals and birds, and an additional trip to Halibut Cove, a rustic harbor town, both with local guides on the boats with us. While in Homer we will immerse in the local shops and visit the tidal pools for starfish, eagles, and macro images.  We will make 2 trips to Crescent Lake to photograph Alaskan Brown Bears.

Although scenic images will be had all around us every day, we will also take a float plane over to Crescent Lake, one of Alaska’s most scenic areas for some landscape photography and to photograph some Brown Bears.

Our lodging will be at a private lodge. All guests will have private rooms in shared cabins with a common area that includes all the amenities. All lodging, meals, and all excursions are included in the price of the workshop. All Meals are included. All ground transportation is included once we pick you up from the Kenai Airport until we drop you off at that airport upon completion of the workshop. There is a local store, Fred Meyer, that we can visit nearby if anything is forgotten or needed while there.

We will do some lessons on processing each day as time permits as well. Bring lots of memory cards and extra batteries as we are often out almost all of the day.

Cost: $7395.00

Non-Refundable Deposit: $2500.00 

A $2500.00 non-refundable* deposit is required to reserve your space for this workshop, or you may pay in full. The remaining balance is due on May 15th, 2024. If the remaining balance is not paid in full, your space will be forfeited. 

After the initial deposit, the second payment of $2447.50 will be due by January 10, 2024. The final payment of $2447.50 will be due by May 10, 2024.

What´s included in the Workshop:

• Lodging & Meals for the duration of the workshop at a private lodge.

• Daily hands-on time with the instructors, we will both be available to you all day long.

• Ground transportation to and from Kenai Airport and throughout the workshop.

• All excursions. Including 2 excursions for bears at Crescent Lake.

What´s NOT included in the Workshop:

• Airfare to and from Kenai Airport.

• Trip Insurance.

• Tips for guides.

If you have preferred foods or sensitivity to certain foods, we can issue you a $100 credit towards food that you can buy and cook in your own cabin.
